From May 13 to 24, 2015, France was filled with even more glamorous people than usual as it hosted the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival. One of the most prestigious and exclusive celebrations of film, it’s no surprise that invitees turn heads with their glamorous hair, makeup, and style selections. Here’s a few of our favorites to inspire the glamazon in you.
Emma Stone (photos)
Dress: This Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress is one of those pieces that would be a stunning choice whether you’re in the 1920s or 2020s. Chantilly lace, a tulle ruffle skirt, and classic black.
Hair: Emma’s loose updo with face-framing waves wafts in the sea breeze, perfectly at home in the chic-yet-chill setting of a harbor swarming with paparazzi. Our Stylists love using Big Sexy Hair Dense Thickening Hairspray to achieve this look.
Makeup: Emma opted for a soft and spring-like look with a pink lip color, subtle blush, and plum shadow.
Lupita Nyong’o (photos)
Dress: Lupita twirled down the red carpet like the goddess that she is in this chiffon plissé Gucci gown with flowing sleeves and skirt. Plunging neckline, floral-crystal detailing, bold jade hue.
Hair: Lupita’s sleek updo was adorned with a delicate yet eye-catching golden headpiece—a crown of sorts for her highness.
Makeup: Makeup artist Nick Barose adorned Lupita with fuchsia lips, full brows, and long lashes. "Wearing strong colors doesn't have to be loud, sophistication can be fun too," he said. "It's all about having fun with colors but keep it balanced from looking overdone." For the perfect fuchsia, our Artists love the Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lip Color in Shalimar.
Charlize Theron (photos)
Dress: Like a piercing beam of sunlight, Charlize strutted down the carpet in a yellow Christian Dior Couture. Long, flowing train, avant-garde neckline, hip-hugging curves.
Hair: Charlize went for a low updo similar to Emma’s but with a more dramatic part and controlled bombshell waves grazing her face.
Makeup: Pati Dubroff, the star’s makeup artist, posted a sneak peek of the palette, featuring Dior beauty products and spring-inspired colors. “With a va-va-voom dress like that, not much else is needed,” People observed. The Diorshow Iconic Mascara completes this look.
Salma Hayek (photos)
Dress: Salma grabbed the spotlight as usual in her flamenco-influenced, coin-inspired gown by Alexander McQueen. Dynamic shape, metallic shimmer, throwback flourish.
Hair: Salma’s rich brunette locks were as shiny as her dress, swept to the slide in Hollywood curls.
Makeup: Salma’s smokey, shimmery eyes and full brows stole the show, rounded out with subtle pink lips.
